So an update on recent attempts to get some traction in international competitions. And the the votes are in folks and the winner is Netherlands , No wait that's EuroVision. Ah where was that piece of paper, oh yes didn't get in the final 200 for Lens Culture International B&W awards.
But I should not be surprise really. Entries from 166 countries and thousands of photographs. Also I don't think I really had much of a chance in that there is a quirkiness to the type of art photography that wins consistently in European based competitions and I just don't seem to fit in (go to Lensculture.com to see the gallery). I also missed out on getting anywhere in the Australian BirdLife competition, but really it was a long shot at best. The people in that are some of the best photographers in Australia (nee the world), many doing it a full-time or as semi-part time jobs. So in that they have the time and all the best gear around, it would have been a sheer fluke to even get a look in. So now I guess I start again. Maybe do some self evaluating, some planning, work out some shots and get ready for November 2020.
