With myself as I rest, my thoughts now mine own.
Alone seeking solace, or trying my best.
In your light I now sit, in your time I seek rest.
The restless week weighed me down, gnawing my bones.
Trials from others draining my soul.
Stealing my energy, with their darkness my resolve.
Speak to me now world, give me some peace.
As here I now sit with you, seeking your rest.
Don’t let me take from you, like others do me.
Teach me to be generous and how I should be.
Like this gift that is present, as I sit with you now.
Breathing in this time honestly, with limited regret.
Though days now numbered, here I sit for some rest.
Help build my resilience, to redraw some resolve.
To be as I am needed, to answer a call.
Be a giver of justice, and a sharer of life.
To be the attended where needed, to go on with the fight.
Peace now is present, the light is now low.
This day is now ending and losing its glow.
Give me rest in the evening, and good dreams in this night.
That I move to tomorrow, to be someone else’s good light.
