Well today is the day! January 25, 2019 my target date to launch a website to the world.
I think it would have been my Grandmother's 121st Birthday.
I only knew the real Jessica when I was very young, as time passed very soon she was lost in the fog of dementia.
What I do remember was a very strong, stern, no nonsense woman. She had to be. In 1932 she lost her husband (from WW1 Mustard Gas poisoning) and alone with 4 small children in a society hostile to single women and which had little or no regard for the families of departed soldiers. She fought back at that society and the national government, determined to keep her family together. And after years barricaded in the only home refusing to budge, support by a small church community and the help of her Barrister William Hughes (yes that Billy Hughes), she she succeeded and in so doing she changing Government policy towards the support of families of veterans.
Similar shadows of evil are returning to a self focused society with hostile attitudes toward our environment, and each other.
And Jessica is a reminder that results for good come from not giving in or giving up. I want this website to not just be about displaying my photo's. There will be no 'selfies' (I guarantee you that much).
When its all said and done my hope is to delight, entertain and inform. While along the way giving you ideas or inspiration on how to see things from a different perspective and maybe lift you up or encourage you when you need it. And with that I hope you will see your own possibilities. So lift off is now.
